If you have never worked with a Naturopath before, it’s natural to wonder what to expect during your consultation. The following information will give you a general overview of my practice.

I am here to help you whether you are healthy and want to work on prevention and maintainence, or have specific health concerns.

My first priority as a Naturopath is to assess your individual health needs in a variety of ways. If you have health concerns, I will also be working to determine and address the underlying cause of your illness.

This appointment option is designed to determine where your illness originates, or what is generating it, address symptoms, and restore and preserve your long-term health.

  • I will take the time to listen to you, and to REALLY get to know you and your health concerns.
  • I will fully review your completed health questionnaire, analyze your current healthcare routine, yours and close family medical history, and any medical tests or reports you bring with you.
  • I will review current medications, nutritional supplements, your lifestyle, and possible toxic or hazardous exposure
  • I will perform non-invasive physical exams that are relevant for your case/symptoms, assess your biochemical/metabolic and genetic individuality, and discuss options and resources for any stress/emotional issues related to your health.
  • I will determine the correct testing to assist me in identifying your health needs, and perform an Iridology assessment to determine genetic strengths and weakness and help evaluate the root cause of illness or health concerns you may have.
  • I will explain my findings and set up a personal program to address the base, or phase 1, of your program.

Where appropriate lab tests will be ordered. Test results will be discussed in detail at your next appointment, and I will then recommend the best clinical approach to take.

It is important to remember that each person manifests illness in a way that is unique to them. There is no such thing as a “one size fits all” health program in my practice. I do not have a standard arthritis plan, or an osteoporosis plan, or a menopause plan; every program that I design is created exclusively for each individual, and focuses not just on the illness and treating symptoms, but also on balancing the body and immune system, promoting overall well-being, preventing recurring illness, and creating lasting health.

My practice is founded on safe, effective integrative and holistic Naturopathic & Functional Medicine modalities. I also focus on foundational nutrition and whole body detoxification.

I draw on an effective combination of therapies to help your body heal, and the modality or modalities used will be unique to you and your needs. These include, but are not limited to:

  • stress management including EFT
  • herbal, homeopathic, and nutritional medicine
  • enzyme therapy
  • personalized dietary programs
  • cleansing or detoxing and pH balancing programs
  • metabolic biochemical dietary matching
  • hydrotherapy
  • exercise
  • massage, meditation, acupuncture, cranial sacral work
  • osteopathic or chiropractic manipulation
  • allopathic medical intervention if necessary

When your initial comprehensive consultation is concluded, you will have received a thorough education about your condition and…

  • A simple-to-follow program chart
  • Fact sheets and/or instruction sheets
  • A copy of my publication, “The Body Owner’s Guidebook”
  • An individualized copy of one of my diet planning, or pH balancing or cleansing/detox guidebooks.

You will leave my office with all the tools you’ll need to follow the first, or foundational phase, of your comprehensive program.

I take the time to answer your questions by email, and I am also available on my free call-in to enable you to check in with me and to ask questions (I encourage this).

This appointment may run for 2 to 3 hours and is a flat-fee of $325.00.

This appointment option is designed for those who are generally healthy and are interested in drug-less relief from occasional uncomfortable symptoms, and other short-term, or preventive concerns such as:

  • Hemorrhoid pain and anal fissures
  • Occassional headaches, rashes, hives, poison ivy, and other skin conditions, sleep problems, colds, flu, constipation or diarrhea.
  • Tracking food sensitivities
  • Stress management
  • Preparation for, and enhanced recovery from Surgery
  • Medication/supplement interactions
  • Enhanced healing from wounds or broken bones
  • Personal eating plans
  • General detoxification
  • Prevention plans for bone health, breast health and prostate health

Please note: underlying issues of chronic health concerns are addressed by the Comprehensive appointment.

This appointment option is based on my hourly rate of $30.00 per 15 minutes i.e. a 15 minute appointment costs $30.00, a 30 minute appointment will cost $60.00 etc.

Your treatment results are highly dependent on the safety, quality, and potency of the tools in my Dispensary.

A huge percentage of the supplements available today contain raw materials sourced from China. Most supplement companies rely solely on the dangerous practice of trusting the report (the assay that is sent with raw materials) for guidance on safety, and assurance that the herb or vitamin is what it is listed to be, is the correct potency, and does not contain any heavy metal, solvent, chemical or drug contaminates.

Some (more ethical) companies do a random independent assay of the materials, but this still allows contaminated or dangerous batches to slip through into the supplements you take.

Only a very few supplement manufacturers do independent assays of EACH BATCH of raw materials. And these companies frequently reject whole shipments or batches of raw materials because there IS heavy metal, drug or toxic contamination, the potency is higher or lower than listed, the oils are rancid or contaminated with solvents, the product is something different than listed etc etc. Their primary concern is your health and safety.

While there are countless supplements and supplement manufacturers, I am constantly working to ensure that my Dispensary is stocked ONLY with the most effective, clinically researched, and SAFE formulas.

Products may be returned for refund (product purchase price only, no shipping costs are refunded) within 30 days of purchase if they are unopened and unmarked. All refrigerated products including oils and probiotics are not returnable.

Supplements are available to patients via a number of convenient options.

All information and/or test results obtained or discussed in the course of your treatment are kept strictly confidential. If you wish your case to be discussed with another physician or practitioner, or your records or test results provided to any other healthcare provider, you are required to provide a written request including your permission/consent. There will be a minimum charge of $10 for administration, photocopying, preparation and mailing of records. Medical information will never be faxed or emailed without your consent. Confidentiality is a primary concern in my practice.

At the present time, insurance coverage for Naturopathic care is limited, and based on individual insurance policies. My office does not process any type of insurance, and payment is requested in full at each appointment, but I can provide a receipt you may submit to your insurance company, or to your company’s medical flex account department, should you choose to apply for reimbursement.

Although Naturopaths are trained in primary care, I do not carry a pager or practice “acute or emergency medicine”. My patients retain MDs or DOs as their primary care providers (PCPs). I work with patients on a long-term basis to correct the underlying cause of their health concern. I refer out for blood draws, pap and pelvic exams, school physicals, and all emergency care. When appropriate I will refer patients to highly qualified practitioners for physical therapy, osseous manipulation, cranial sacral therapy, psychological counseling, surgical procedures and allopathic medical care.
